Best Wishes and Many Thanks to June Kukuchka.
When June Kukuchka, a nurse at Tyler Hospital in Tunkhannock, broke her neck in an auto accident, she thought she might never walk again. Luckily, she's back on her feet, making terrific progress. The hospital staff held a raffle in her honor and raised $988. June and her husband Tom then rounded the number off to $1,000 and donated the entire amount to our Foundation. We are grateful that they thought of us, but even more grateful that June is doing so well. Our thoughts are with her and her family.

We are collecting Can Tabs as a fundraiser. Please save all those little aluminum tabs off beverage cans! Give us a call at 836-1240 and we can pick them up or tell you where to drop them off. Thanks.

The BIG Raffle

As a new fundraiser, The Kitchnefsky Foundation for Spinal Cord Research is having our first BIG raffle...a two week stay at a private rental property in Hawaii! The property is in the Kahala section on Oahu, just minutes from the Waikiki beach area. The house itself has 4 bedrooms (comfortably accommodating about 10 people), three bathrooms, a large living area witch includes a full kitchen, clothes washer/dryer, pool, basketball area and a covered outdoor patio with an outdoor barbeque grill.

This year, the winner was Bill Raboskin! He and his friends and loved ones will soon be heading to the island paradise. Congrats! This year’s tickets are now available, and the price will be the same as last year…$10.00. The prize includes up to $800 for airfare. There are some restrictions, so if you have any questions or would like to make arrangements to purchase tickets, please give the Foundation a call at (570) 836-1240. Mahalo nui!

Many local merchants and organizations kindly displayed our Collection Cans during our recent Can Drive. If you'd like to participate next time, please let us know and we'll put you on the list. Special thanks to all the folks who so generously donated their spare change to our cause!

Admission to the music festival is $5.00. The chicken dinners are $7.00 each, and of course donations are always welcome. If you have any questions, please call Kevin at

See you there!

Why not dream up your own fundraising event? Think of what you love to do and then do it to benefit the Foundation. It could be as simple as getting people to sponsor your performance in a walk, bike ride or race, or as detailed as putting together a charity dinner-dance. You decide what works for you. We'll do everything we can to help!
